As we approach the half way point of the Ecology of Dual Career project, it seems an appropriate time to reflect on the last year and look to the up and coming events.
The project has completed the first research study, which investigated the different dual career development environments across Europe. The findings of these were developed into a European taxonomy of dual career environments, which we presented to practitioners and academics at the first multiplier sport event held in Odense, Denmark in August. The team has also been working hard on the second work package of the project with several ongoing and completed case studies of dual career development environments. This research has given us an important insight into how environments function on a day-to-day basis, and we look forward to rest of the findings coming in and being able to share these in the near future.
The next project will look more closely at how environments’ effectiveness is evaluated and will take place over the next 6 months. The team has also been putting plans into place to attend a conference this year to share the findings of the research and a further two multiplier sport events to share the findings with practitioners – look for more details of these over the next few months!
